History Test

This place was a German infested coastal region of France. It got invaded by Americans and other Allies. The U.S., British and Canadian-flown aircraft had black and white invasion stripes on the wings so the Allied troops would know them from the Germans. Paratroopers were flown in by gliders and transport planes. This place now belongs to the French again. What place is this?

A. Belgium
B. Italy
C. Normandy

  1. This is Garrett, I have to use my sister's blog account before I get my own!

Normandy! :) Black and white stripes were added to cut confusion between axis and allied aircraft. Thanks to numerous airstrip raids by the RAF they were almost not needed. The Nazi Airforce was almost nonexistant. Thanks for the trivia question, and keep learning!!! ~ Garrett

  2. Hey this is David S.

I think that it would be Normandy!

"The Longest Day" is one of my favorite movies! It shows quite a bit of this battle. Nice job!
